Putting new valve cover gaskets on the IS300. Not too bad a job, some bits were a little hard to get to, but more the slow you down and takes five minutes, not take a break build/buy a special tool type of challenge.
Pools of oil found in the spark plug holes, more on that later.
Took a break, cool day, some leftover chili should hit the spot. And what goes with chili, why saltines of course. I had a brand new box, oh joy, fresh crackers. Opened the box. What is this?
These are unopened sleeves, name brand crackers, and each is about 20% short of full box length. Somebody needs to report this to the authorities.
Nevertheless soldiered on and enjoyed the chili, trying not to dwell on the short stack life had dealt me.
Fed, fat and happy, I went back to Lexi work.
That is a lot of oil pooled in the plug holes, cleaned it out, put it all back together and started her up. Purred like a kitten (had a little stumble or roughness before)
Lastly, maybe not worthy of its own post, while walking the dog this morning I stopped by the former nursery that was finally going to auction twenty years of being closed. Low and behold, they brought out a Trans Am with a screaming thunder chicken on its hood, looking very original but a little tired. From the years when they didn't make a lot of ponies, but neither did anything else. No idea what it is worth.

@glemon The cracker companies are taking a page out of the potato chip maker handbook and shipping air.
Looks like reduced size won out over increased price and resizing the box isn’t in the budget. -
@glemon Huh. I was gonna say "shrinkflation's a bitch" (and it is), but that cracker box says 16 OZ. I'm pretty sure that's the same amount (in weight, not volume of course) that they've been selling for as long as I can remember. Still, that's a lot of empty space that I'm not used to seeing in saltine packaging... maybe it is underfilled.

@urambo-tauro I am weighing it next time...

@glemon if it’s a real 400ci 1979 TA (which I think is doubtful based on the lack of a WS6 package) then it is worth about $20-$25k in good condition. Solid car!

@bandit Hood scoop says T/A 6.6, not rusty, it is either original paint or was done a long time ago. I am no expert on these or the option packages though.
