James Hong: still alive and kicking

(I made the title explicit, because 2020.)
I started watching Airplane! last night since it will soon drop off Netflix, and it’s amazing just how funny it is (I know, but it’s been many years for me, and I’d forgotten) and how many recognizable faces there are.
I finally figured out after about an hour that one of the moonies was Joe Isuzu, and no sooner had I put that together but James Hong showed up.
I wanted to be sure it was him, so I reached for IMDB, and holy hell his résumé is impressive.
He’s almost 92 and still acting, with his first credit in 1954! Four hundred and forty acting credits, plus a handful of other credits from photography to director and producer.
And of course my mind is blown by the fact he was born in Minneapolis., but that thick Minnesotan accent should have given it away.
Anyway, there’s no real point to this post other than to remind people that James is still alive and kicking, and there are a bunch of great movies about to fall off the Netflix map.

Great character actor, for sure.
