New email from Ford on my Maverick

Just got an email from Ford:

"The demand has been overwhelming for America's first standard hybrid truck. In fact, it's nearly sold out for the 2022 model year. Luckily there's already one with your name on it, and we're doing everything to build through the queue as quickly as possible. Your 2022 Maverick Hybrid pickup will be delivered next year, and rest assured that we'll continue to keep you updated."

I'm not sure how to feel about the bolded part, but at least I'm confirmed that delivery will be next year. Also, as one of the first hybrid owners, they are giving me a free Ford FITS accessory kit after delivery...

@bbg2d that’s definitely an uneasy proposition to think they’re hurrying, and they’re Ford too.

Congrats on getting a confirmed build! Already starting to see Mavericks locally in SoCal and they’re cool little trucks.

@sovande Yes, I really can't imagine Ford not having a winner with this, cheap, good MPG, versatile, lots of people will probably buy as a family hauler, or singles that don't want a big vehicle. Hell I don't know, maybe I am projecting myself into the world (or at least the U.S. part of it) but not everybody needs/wants/can afford a full size truck or SUV, right?

@glemon I mean my preference would be a cheap hybrid station wagon, but this is a close second.

I'm thinking this:

• run F-150 through winter,
• sell after spring melt (hoping used prices still good)
• Ride motorcycle until Maverick arrives
• profit?

If it gets into August, I'll probably cancel the order, buy in the CONUS and drive the AlCan highway again, it's usually very doable and an interesting trip.
