Another Taco Update™

When I buy things I try to drive them as often as possible, basically waiting to see if the other shoe will drop, and learn of more imperfections and needs through use. So Saturday, I drove this behemoth a few hundred miles. Drove the dog around, saw my parents, drove past the beach with the windows down, that kind of thing. I also went to a twisty steep road that I usually take the Paseo on out in Mukilteo, which is usually a good way to bleed out some smells from the strain of lower gears and steep inclines.
Nothing. No clunks, no smells, no lights, no real concerns.
So... I think it's going to be okay!
I still have the buyer's remorse... More like buyer's guilt. This was, by any measure, an excessive purchase for me. There's not one this vehicle I need. It was a pure want -- well, and some impulse. At least when I bought my Paseo, it was because Tercel had died earlier that morning on the freeway, so I needed a car. I told my mom it was a silly decision and she's like, "Don't even THINK about selling it! Just be happy!" I told her she'd make a lousy therapist, and my father agreed with the assessment. I went over to my friend's house to watch the HandEgg competition, and he said, "That truck is 100% [Zoidberg]." So I'm just being my usual pain-in-the-ass self about it.
I got the title in the mail today as well. So my plan is someday, maybe, hopefully, hang on to the Lexus and Tacoma, sell them both almost certainly for more than purchased, and buy an IS500. And since we all know that won't happen, my revised plan is just to drive the Lexus and Tacoma for as long as feasible.
The dog sure still loves it, but the bad news is she figured out she can reach the back of my ear from the rear seat and lick me with her snake tongue without warning.
Thank you for your time.

@dr-zoidberg I like those wheels a lot more than the TRD takeoffs you were looking at.
So you now have the work truck, this, the longboi, wagon, and the Pontiac? Hmm...

Yes, though the longboi will either be sold or stored long-term here before the weather turns. Haven't figured that out, but recouping some of the money I've spent would be nice.

@dr-zoidberg running boards / bars?
-
@spaceball-two I know you jest, but this is a little too high off the ground... A little step would not be unwelcome.

I’m kinda with your mom on this one. It’s okay to enjoy things. You’ve earned this. It’s not a frivolous purchase. -
@chariotoflove It's frivolous, but it's strategically frivolous.

Interesting way to look at it.

These are peak Tacoma. I always wanted a black one, exact cab/bed situation you have there with a 5 speed and of course the locker. That ship has long sailed and the cab is way too small for me now (and prices too high). Enjoy it dude!

... and you came to this site expecting us to shame you for having too many cars, or talk you out of keeping it?
Nice truck. I think you should buy more.
The snake tongue dog lick hazard does sound a bit dangerous. Might need a camera / monitor set up so you can see it coming.

@dr-zoidberg I’m a big believer in steps up. All my trucks had them.

So you are never getting another vehicle? Checks out.
