Saw a local Alfa 164 for sale. No A/C but runs and drives! For $2500, I'd be tempted as I've never seen one in the flesh!

@rctothefuture I like that the triangle grill actually looks decent on the front of this. It just doesn't look right on new designs.

@rctothefuture NP, sure there's a little history around the body, but overall clean for the age

i'm fond of calling alfas out for being ugly. the succeeding 166 is an especially hideous and depressing design.

but this is handsome, particularly with two-tone and the yellow fogs. nice

@rctothefuture There was a kid in the Oppo FB group who had one. He wanted to DD it. Everyone told him it was a terrible idea, he tried anyways.

A month later, he cracked the oil pan and had to drop the subframe to change it (WTF). He didn't the warning the Car Gods had given and kept DDing it- a month or so passed and the engine bay had a major electrical fire.

@rctothefuture I thought about buying one of those when I was 19 or 20. It looked cool, and wasn't expensive. Thankfully it didn't work out theres no way i could have maintained it.
I love that huge stack of buttons on the dash.

@rctothefuture I think it is a great idea, but if you want one get the best maintained example you can find, owned by an enthusiast and serviced by someone who knows those cars.

No fun owning a car that is circling the drain!

@rctothefuture Do it! Those were always a rare oddball but soon they'll be old enough that they might actually be worth something. The only one I've seen for sale ever locally wanted crazy money.

This is the sort of bad decision I can get behind - go for it!

Craigslist will push me, and I'll say no; read my lips: no new projects.

Sadly we're out of room in the driveway, otherwise I'd be on my way to offer him $2k today.
