Some DOTS that will be boring to many, but interesting to weirdos like me
-
I took the family apple picking today, and was stopped in my tracks by this slightly shabby, but overall good condition Buick Park Ave. My grandma had a silver one, one of my best friends had a gold one identical to this, and another friend had a red LeSabre (which was the same car, just not as plushly trimmed). I have a lot of excellent memories is these cars. They were supremely comfortable road trip machines. They used to be EVERYWHERE, but I can't remember the last time I saw one in the flesh.
My phone failed to take a pic of the very clean '99-02 regular cab, stepside, 4x4 Silverado. That truck also made me happy to see. Oh, and I was driving and couldn't get a pic of the even cleaner Quadrasteer Sierra I saw on the way home.
It was a good day of spotting for a GM nerd.

@shop-teacher Amusingly, I just spotted its Olds sibling on marketplace:

You'd love this area, old time GM stuff is easy to find.

Same platform as the Celebrity?
-
@rusty-vandura Nope, this is an H-body, full size. The Celebrity was a midsize A-body. Chevy never had a car on this platform, because they kept the RWD B-body Caprice as their full sizer. (Yeah, I'm a bit of a GM nerd too...)
-
@fintail I love it! My grandpa had basically that identical car.
-
@rusty-vandura Nope, same platform as the Olds Delta 88 and Pontiac Bonneville.

3.3 with OD?
-
@rctothefuture 3.8
-
@shop-teacher now that's some power!
-
@rctothefuture Oh yes. They had a nice growl to them too.

I'm sorry that the Caprice went away. I don't really like FWD. And people race FWDs around tracks... NOPE. (Then again, I don't race anything...)
