Triumph

I was in Norfolk, Virginia, this week and saw these two motorcycles. Any comments on these bikes?

@rusty-vandura My opinion is that they look awesome.

@rusty-vandura The yellow valve covers are a nice touch. I’m a sucker for anything carbureted with two wheels.

If I owned that motorcycle, I'd put great effort into selecting mufflers/exhaust for it to get just the right note. The yellow valve covers seem a bit garish to me. Not sure what color I'd prefer though.

If I ever got rid of my Tiger 800 XC I’d either get another Tiger or the pictured Scrambler 1200. Love the look and they’ve got some legit capability (note the big old gold Ohlins in the back). Bonnevilles are just beautiful, especially with a unique touch or two like valve covers or a nice seat. Here are some other lovely Triumphs I’ve come across in my travels, plus a photo of my girl from last weekend

@ohcrikeytherozzers I had a feeling Triumphs would be a thing.
-
@rusty-vandura It’s a motorcycle, it’s supposed to be garish.
-
@rusty-vandura I wonder how well the scrammy handles with that upgraded fork. I had a 2002 as my first bike and it was enjoyable for country lanes and such…but never felt planted in the curves and the brakes were so so in my opinion. Wasn’t expecting a race bike, mind, but something a little more confidence inspiring.

I mean garish in that startle-every-driver-you-pass kind of way. I don't need the mission of my motor vehicle to be making every other motorist in the state think I'm a butthole.

They're nice,
I'd probably go Triumph Scrambler over "Ducati" Scrambler, neither a really my style.
Gun to head, I'd realistically go with a '21 BMW R9T Urban 40th G/S:
That just does it for me for neo retro scrambler style. A beautiful mix of old cues with new hardware and probably a wonderful ride.
The yellow covers just look out of place on that Bonni otherwise it looks alright.
-
@rusty-vandura top is a scrambler, bottom is a Bonneville. If you like bikes, and you don't like triumphs, then your opinion is wrong and makes you a bad person. Therefore, these bikes are rad. End of story

Yes.
-
Oh I got so much time for Triumphs.
I’m not digging the yellow on the Bonnie, but by and large both look like great bikes.
-
@rusty-vandura Top one looks cool and is totally pointless. Those Scramblers are fun as heck to ride. One ride off-road would probably destroy that bike.
Bottom one is Bonneville and is good.

I felt the same. I'm not a motorcycle guy at all, but I figured some of the guys here wouldn't mind having a look at these.

I assumed that this would be the case. If I found myself wanting a motorcycle for some reason, it would be something like that one with the yellow bra cups, though I'd not want yellow bra cups... Maybe brushed aluminum or a powder-coated gray...
