"Only the rush hour hell to face
Packed like lemmings into shiny metal boxes
Contestants in a suicidal race..."God, I hate commuting. How many years until retirement? No, don't tell me.

@mark-tucker I went in today, as I do most Mondays, but it's WFH for the rest of the week. Mondays serve as my weekly reminder of how much I loathe the commuting slog. When the pandemic is over I'm going to do my best to keep my office days to a minimum.

@mark-tucker for me, 6 years, 8 months and 19 days. At most.
Yes I keep count. Bleah

@mark-tucker The commute bit reminds me of a particularly excellent beer ad from the early 80s:

I don't miss my commute at all since I've been WFH. Dreading going back to 2.5-3hr roundtrip sometime next year... If the wife's work doesn't force us into a huge (and good) life change we will probably do it ourselves. Would love to have a useful Metro system at the minimum. 14 yrs and counting...

@mark-tucker I had a shit commute for 14 years now it’s a 5 minute drive. I can also ride my bicycle to work in 15 minutes.
-
@mark-tucker the joys of having a 5 minute/2km commute
