Almost forgot, yesterday was the 2 year anniversary for the 4Runner
-
Two years ago, my trusty Taco was traded in for the trusty 4Runner. When I went to test drive it (i had already driven another a month or so earlier) the dealer tossed me the keys, told me to take it home for the day. So I did.
We agreed on the value of the Taco, and the OTD price for the 4Runner, and away I went. Both vehicles went across country once, although the 4Runner didn't get to make it into Canada.
Would I do it again? Sure. It isn't a perfect vehicle, but for where I am in life right now, it really does tick nearly all of the boxes. Decent price, cargo capacity, haul the family around, kid friendly third row, fun to take off road. Yes, my wife has a very similar vehicle that does all of the above (except the third row part). It was kind of funny, one day I was talking to another hockey parent, he had recently purchased a white TRD Pro 4Runner. He considered it his mid-life crisis purchase.
Have I thought about selling it? Sure. I start looking for the next one the day the new one hits the driveway, it seems. For now, it's safe.
Parting shot with the Tacoma in the rear view mirror.

Congrats on the anniversary! It's almost 2 years since I've had the Sportwagen.
One of these is definitely on my short list for vehicle purchases for all the reasons you list except the 3rd row. The price for recently used makes me want to buy a new one, but am still cheap as hell so not sure what I'll do.

@jminer An Alltrack was on my short list, but the rear seat room behind me was too tight. They still catch my eye when I see them, though.

It's been two years and a half ish since I got my Cruze. I'm thinking about moving on but it definitely isn't the car's fault. Sometimes you just want a change of pace. Congrats on sticking with the 4Runner that long.
