What an absolute beauty. Almost makes me wish BMW went down the retro route in their design.
-
The entire exercise was a meme and the car never existed; change my mind.
-
Sounds like the seller was fishing for market value, and BaT is a good place to do that.
-
Lol final bid $1,957,507
Rich guy's got jokes.

I didn't look if it was comp, but one went for ~ US $2.4 million in February. Maybe he's waiting for the spring auctions.

@beatergt ...but, but, BMW said the new 4-series was inspired by the original 328, hence the giant grille!
-
@just-jeepin Great advertising for the seller for what, $100? Whether he gets more than that in a future sale - who knows?

I'm not kidding... it's in their press release.
Pieter Nota’s look back into the past at the home of BMW Group Classic illustrated how deeply entwined the new BMW 4 Series Coupé is with the brand’s tradition of legendary sports cars. Classics such as the BMW 328 Coupé from the 1930s and BMW 3.0 CS from the 1970s are headline acts in the enthralling history of BMW coupés. And now a new chapter can be added to this story of prestige, driving pleasure and racing success. “The new BMW 4 Series Coupé captures the very essence of BMW,” said Nota. “It is a future-focused interpretation of the brand’s enduring DNA.”

It looks like the Rhett Butler mustache from Gone with the Wind

@tonicipriani Oh I know. I understand what they were TRYING to do, they just utterly failed in the attempt. The size, proportion, scale and detailing of the new 4 completely loose it.
