This is a very sweet short film, shot on the brand new iPhone 13 Pro using Cinematic mode. (I assume they used a drone for a few moments, curious how that was done.)

Recommended viewing, but not because it was shot on an iPhone.

      On walkabout. Back soonish.

@just-jeepin Thank you for posting. I am paring down my belongings and sold my couple years old Sony Nex-5 mirrorless camera with plans to use my Pixel 4a (wife will probably get the new Pixel 6 or Samsung similar) for future photo needs. Other than high end photography do most think phones are good enough these days?

@66p1800inpieces While I'm hesitant to place too much emphasis on one number, I think the dxomark rating posted in this thread at least gives you a good shopping list for cameras.

            https://opposite-lock.com/topic/24704/i-did-a-dumb-phone-advice-wanted/

I assume pretty much all medium- to high-end phones today have cameras that are sufficient for day-to-day photos.

I think the more important question at that point is how quickly can you get a shot (Apple's loads very quickly, e.g., but is harder to get to when you're navigating somewhere), and whether the cameras have the focal lengths you're interested in.

I dunno. I guess I'm really the wrong person to ask since I've only ever used iPhones since the flip phone era.

That is very valuable by itself. I will read the other post later in the day (trying to finish fixing stuff so I can list my house).

@66p1800inpieces “Good enough” is not good enough of a measuring stick. Yes, a good modern cellphone camera will do an amazing job in most conditions. No, it’ll still not replace a full frame DSLR with a long zoom lens, or allow for printing large canvases. I did print some decent size cellphone photos - like 12x12, but nothing like what I have able to do with my big boy camera.

I’m glad we both call them big boy cameras.
