Colleague from work asked if I could do his car.

It wasn't in bad condition as such, but has bad corrosion on the top of the front wheelarches.

Then made dinner, skinless chicken breast, basted in Canadian Maple Syrup and a light dusting of pepper, honey roast parsnips, mashed potato, sweetcorn and peas with butter, Yorkshire pudding with gravy and the juices from the chicken.

Ahhh the mk5... what will kill it first? Rust? Or catastrophic engine failure? Who knows!

        Dinner induces jealousy as ever.

          @qaaaaa

The only real issue the Mk5 has here is corrosion behind the front wheelarch on the bulkhead.

It's a simple cut out the bad bit and weld in a new bit but it's labour costs and time that make people just get shot of the cars.

              Cheers mate.
Was going to do fajitas but need some onions, etc...
It was just quickly thrown together, shoved into the oven or popped into sauce pans and left to do it's thing.

@svend You always say it was "quickly thrown together" but let me try to remember to take a pic the next time I "throw something together" because its ugly.

My goodness, a man of many tricks and trades: clean cars, and mouthwatering food that just reminded me I've eaten nothing today.

Some journalist told me about this site. Now I own three cars.

Honestly, little effort and very little time was put in.
I love cooking but sometimes trying to relax from work, get some sleep, cook dinner, tidy up, catch some sleep before work, then go to work.

@svend You better have submitted some recipes to the Oppo cookbook being put together holy smokes. I rarely cook because I'm not feeding or impressing anyone other than myself and because I'm a god-awful shopper. Like, I'll buy stuff that'll only get used for one meal. Not exactly cost-efficient you know?

I used to cook for myself often but got to a point of, 'why am I just cooking food, when I can put more into it and create food I want to look at and eat'.

So I did. I could just make bacon and eggs, or I could put that little more into it.
Cherry (I prefer Tomkin tomatoes, as shown) tomatoes on the vine, baked for 20 minutes with a drizzle of oil and a dusting of salt, bacon and pecorino cheese omolette (dust grated pecorino cheese into the base of a cold 20cm non stick frying pan, heat the pan and then when the cheese has maleted at two medium or one extra large whisked egg and continue to cook like any other omolette. You'll get a nice cheesy omolette that's crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside).

                          14716125_10205497547198069_2619452337266241549_n.jpg

Or the ultimate bacon buttie (bacon roll), fry several rashers of streaky bacon (American style bacon) on a griddle pan, baste with maple syrup as it cooks, warm a naan in the oven, remove bacon from the griddle pan, then place the naan in the pan and toast it and let it soak up the bacon fat, remove from the pan then toasted side up spread one half with cheese spread, add the bacon and then fold over.

                          bacon naan maple syrup 31265220_10208816125160444_649181356147867648_n.jpg

or add a pecorino cheese omolette to it. Baby plum tomatoes to garnish.

@svend Mostly the cleaning portion, not sure my waist could handle the cooking.

But for real some of that stuff comes down to access and I wouldn't even know how to begin. I've tried cleaning under the C30's spoiler before and it was laughable.

When you say cleaning under the C30's spoiler, what were you using?
Is the spoiler (front or rear?) difficult to access?

I always feel good once I cook, but I'm never up for cooking. Also can't cook much of anything right now because I'm staying home for 2 weeks with just enough canned food and such to get me through 2 weeks. Takeout is the only other option, but again, money.

Some journalist told me about this site. Now I own three cars.
