Well not exactly, but I just tried it out and will make installing roof shingles so much easier and faster. Also pew pew pew

15 bundles of shingles. This is going to be a joy to bring all this up the ladder.

I have enough cap nails and roofing nails for a few houses I think

The worst part of my roof. you can see a previously repaired section which weathered the hurricane. Then hammered broken shingles to cover the felt for the time being. I "fixed" the bottom left thats showing some felt. strange it didnt leak there.

Im always repairing this area, so im ripping it all out ( about 16 x 20') to the wood, put new felt and nail new shingles. Then a couple of other areas, but nothing as big as this area.

@skyfire77 Roofing nails pretty much only come in coils, but you can get framing nails in either coils or sticks.

I had been doing a lot of interior work so I had been using my air powered finish gun. I had forgotten what a framing gun banged liked. I let out a little giggle the first time I shot it off again.

@skyfire77 I wish I could quit wearing out roofing guns. A few times a year I have to shoot a roof and remember my age is surpassing my ability. Hand nail 1 repair and you remember why nail guns are for sale. Unfortunately I own every air fastener gun available. The battery roof guns don’t do it. The battery trim guns work awesome.

@pip-bip It's only been coming into vogue in the midwest US for about 6 years or so. I used to try and get people interested in steel roofing and not re-roofing for 50-100 years (when I sold building materials almost 20 years ago), but they weren't interested then. My neighbor just had hers done last year.
