A light Sunday wrench on the KLR
-
Last weekend I went for a ride that was beautiful but ended badly. Today, troubleshooting. But first getting the wheel off the dang bike!
While I shoved the bike up one of those Rhino ramps normally used for oil changes, I enlisted my wife to position jackstands under the bike's bash guard.
A little PB blaster and I could drive the axle out with a punch. That's grease not rust!
Successfully uninstalled, it was easy to use the bicycle pump to figure out that the valve stem is busted. How that happened though, I'll never know. Anyway, I guess it's off to the tire shop.

Off - I hate tire work on bikes. I’ve used spoons before but it’s always a pain to get them on and off, while I grumble about the cost recently I’ve just given a shop $50 to do it for me.

Yeah, the only time I've taken my moto in is for the tire changes. I've done all the other work myself.
