One of the things that I like about Florida is the variety of cars, and the many automotive modifications (custom wheels are almost a requirement – even for family sedans). A quick trip downtown usually results in many interesting sightings. Since the beginning of the pandemic, however, the streets have been mostly deserted. Recently, things have been coming back to life. Everyone seems to be getting used to face masks, social distancing, and outdoor dining (or take-out).

Walking downtown yesterday, I spotted this Ford Coupe (1940?). The hastily taken photograph even has my finger in the upper left corner. Although, prior to the pandemic, I posted somewhat frequently on the old Oppositelock (possibly every two weeks), this is my first post on The Hyphen – so it is really just a test.

This is really getting to me, I don't think this started life as a ford. Maybe a 41 plymouth? The hood and front end for sure have been changed as well as drip rail being removed above windows. I am basing my plymouth guess off of the body line on the very top of the door skin below the window.

That's actually an early 40's Dodge I think. That grille is very recognizable.

I see what you mean. My 1940 Ford guess is mostly based on the V8 hood ornament.
