Netflix: sad news
-
West Wing and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse are both dropping off Netflix the 24th and 25th.
Huh, and while I was looking online to see what other gems might be disappearing, a whole slew of cool movies I didn't even know were currently available are leaving on the 31st. Holy Moly.
- Airplane!
- Back to the Future (I, II, and III)
- Being John Malkovich
- Her
- All of the Indiana Jones movies
- WarGames
-
And Dexter, I’m frantically trying to finish the series before December 30th
-
@just-jeepin Shit, gonna have to catch Being John Malkovitch (LOVED that movie when it came out, haven’t seen it since) and Spiderverse (still haven’t seen), ASAP.

Watching Spiderverse right now. It's a shame you didn't catch it on the big screen, but I'd still recommend it.

I finally finished it earlier this year. I’d watched it years ago when new but dropped after a couple seasons. It was good to watch it to the end, but not the most satisfying ending either.

Caught the spider verse movie recently and liked it too. I’ haven’t seen the recent iteration of Spider-Man movies though, nothing since the Toby Maguire ones.

To put it extremely mildly!
I'm still irritated at myself for watching the last season.

Damn, all fantastic movies. Thankfully I have them all on my Plex server. But still!
-
@just-jeepin Crap. I’ve got me some movie watchin’ to do this month. My kid needs to see War Games.
-
@just-jeepin Oh damn. I need to watch War Games ASAP!

"A strange game. The only winning move is not to play."
You're old enough to remember the Cold War, and the end of the Cold War. I was living in a town that would have been Target 1 in a nuclear war, and this movie really resonated with me. A little corny at times, but definitely timely, and it still holds up today.

It's like Friends all over again, but worse
In completely unrelated news, however, someone got sent an early copy of the new Jeep Wrangler set and posted an in-depth review on Youtube:
-
@just-jeepin it's no wonder I don't stream...

I watched it with my daughter last night. She really enjoyed it, and I remembered just how well it was done. The opening scene later the tension and gravity of the issue, and then it switched to the carefree nature of normal teen life in suburbia so that it could build up again.
Also fun to remember the days of dial up and early modems, etc.

@awesomeaustinv A shame about the headlights and very awkward front grille.
-
@just-jeepin Yeah. I'm not sure how they could've done much better, though. Maybe use transparent radar dish pieces instead of the pieces they used? IDK, it's still recognizable as a Jeep at least.
