oh look I can continue shitposting here

I like the fact that images are cut & paste like on Kinja, and I also like that it didn't paste it multiple times automatically, like on Kinja.
The live preview is neat; it's clear when the post is autosaving, and I like the easily re-sizeable posting window on top of the forum instead of a separate page.
No complaints thus far, but it'll take more use for me to sort out the foibles I can live with and the ones that really should be fixed.
This was my lunch from about a month ago when I had some time off; a "dynamite" roll which consists of shrimp tempura, and I think some other stuff like cucumbers and avocado. I don't remember at this point, other than the fact that it was really tasty. The croquette was surprisingly tasty, and still crispy despite the travel time from the restaurant to my home. There's also a california roll
(not that exciting but I like it anyway)and the miso soup and salad are good, if unexciting, sides for everything else. The meal was great, posting here seems to be easy, and feels like an evolution to Oppo that Kinja just couldn't provide.

That looks delicious.

@gin-san Welcome! I'm not a huge seafood person at all, so sushi is not for me....that said, I could eat fish and chips with a goodly amount of ketchup and tartar sauce for DAYS....
Check out the User Guide thread if you need a little overview!

@rallydarkstrike I really disliked it as a kid but something just clicked in high school (probably puberty stuff) and I started to enjoy so many foods that I didn't enjoy even a year or two prior.
Fish and chips is a whole other thing, I'm with you on crushing fish and chips.

Good to see ya! And congrats on bending space and time in order to maintain a crispy croquette.
-
@carsoffortlangley I always want it, but it's pricey around here. That as a lunch special runs close to $20.
-
@beatergt It's always a gamble waiting to eat on fried stuff, it pretty much starts dying right away, even more if it's in an enclosed container.
-
@gin-san $20! USD? For lunch?
-
@carsoffortlangley In Ottawa, so Canadian rubles. This was either $14.99 or $15.99, plus HST on top of that.
Sushi in general is just really expensive here. Even if I wanted to get a filling amount of decent grocery-store sushi I'd probably get getting close to, if not over, $20. It's really a rare treat for me, for those moments where I tell myself that I'm worth it.
-
Oh right. Still, christ that is expensive.
-
@gin-san Yeah, I know a lot of restaurants (sushi or not) are really expensive here too in Nova Scotia
-
I just ate but now I want sushi... how could you do this to me and my wallet?
