@rusty-vandura "Or will he merely go away, financially and morally bankrupt, slinking into the night muttering to himself and wondering why everyone seems to despise him?"

The narcissist with possibly the most fervent and devoted fan base in American political history is going to worry about his detractors? The author seems to have forgotten that the guy still received over 74 million votes.

Funny - so what would we say he deserves? Shocked the "fixer" hasn't been pardoned yet. He must have offended the brave warrior real man patriot in the oval office, just like Chris Christie.

I still want every state AG possible to just nail the organized crime family, and associates like Rudy, DeVos, and the rest, with everything possible. Let it follow them to their final days, have them looking over their shoulder forever.

And 45's supporters today (again, I sympathize with those who fell for it in 2016) are more concerning than the foreign asset himself. This sums up the result of the past 4 years pretty succinctly:

"he’s never been able to contain the Frankenstein monster he’s created—triggered racists, sycophants, and marginalized Americans who believe Trump has given them permission to access the very worst versions of themselves and threaten the world around them for perceived and often erroneous indiscretions."

@fintail I am sitting tight and hoping things calm down a bit after January. I am amazed at the cowardice of the Republicans. I am also pinning some hope on the notion that I shared with you a week or two ago where they said the younger vote had rejected Trump more broadly than other groups. The best I can muster for myself is to follow the news and not let myself get upset, which is very different from not being concerned.

@fintail You know what else, Dr. Fauci was interviewed this week about COVID vaccine and said the the politics surrounding the effort has all been noise and that everything has proceeded exactly as it should have and would have.

@dipodomysdeserti And a sizeable chunk of that 74 million votes came from decent people who see Joe Biden as no improvement over Donald Trump.

@rusty-vandura I assume that's vaccine development itself, and nothing about embarrassingly threadbare American relief/stimulus efforts, politicization of the virus, or lack of any kind of national guidelines or mandate to mitigate risk.

@rusty-vandura The ones who see the hoo-haw grabber as superior, I'll question their decency. Biden is nothing to write home about, but the behavior of his opponent in the last year alone shows one might have a high ground.

                    Stand back, stand by.

@rusty-vandura Remember, the Rs of today are not the same as under Ike, or even Nixon or Reagan. They are indeed a much more cowardly, if not morally bankrupt, gang of crooks and cons. In every state, there's at least one R who will make you shake your head. The party had some honor once, but that was a while ago.

Funny, the young voters I do see on the train are the "personal responsibility" set usually owing a meal ticket to public sector or parental largesse, or who have a never-realized (delusion) dream that they are on the cusp of becoming a tycoon, if it wasn't for all of these prosperity-limiting regulations, and marginalized groups having the gall to want a fair shake.

I suspect the "election fraud" lie will never settle down, and I hope various state AGs stay busy for years nailing this group to the wall. They need to be put in a position where they are unable to come back in 2024.

@fintail Trump has short circuited morally constructive responses by making people mistrust the media.

@rusty-vandura Having something to look forward to is a key of having a positive outlook and probably helps with mental health. I eagerly await a host of AGs to bring up some solid charges, and I dearly hope many have the will to do so.

@rusty-vandura He got the "fake news" cliche going, for sure, while posing and preening for Breitbart, Fox, OAN, etc - actual fake news sources.

@fintail Here is a point where I would take an exception and suggest that cliche is far too weak sauce of a word.
