Question of the night: only one car?
-
Suppose you came across a magic genie who will let you have any new car (for those who aren't paying attention, go back and read the word new again. Thank you) on the condition that it'll be the only car you can drive for a year. For those of you who have work vehicles, good news, the genie will let you keep that but only for doing work related things. If you break his rules, he's launching whatever car you're in (with you in it) into the ocean.
Anyway, now that the angry genie has been satisfied that you'll follow his rules due to your fear of the ocean, what's the one car you'd drive for a year? For me, Audi A6 Allroad, hands down. I bet it'd be a hoot on the grid roads.
Oh yeah, that's rad.

I'd have to choose a blue MK8 Golf R wagon. I know Golf wagons are already the perfect combination of fun and practicality, so why not get the best one?

Literally anything, free car is a free car. But for the sake of discussion I'll say Civic Type-R because it would be an interesting winter car, a fun summer toy, practical hatchback, and I might get tired of the boy racer styling after a year.
-
@cb If it can be a pipe dream car, ZR2 Colorado with the 6.2 V8. If that's not allowed, I have no idea. I'm not terribly interested in anything new.
-
@smallbear You have angered the genie and ended up in the ocean.
-
@cb so be it.
-
Probably a Bronco Sasquatch? I worry that my "performance days" are nearing an end. Sometimes I feel like it's the same roads over and over and I'm missing out on other experiances.
I mean, I guess that's just life in general.
-
I want one of them Yaris Gazoo things.
-
@cb
For one year, I can live with any and all practicality shortcomings this car may have.
-
Does the Volvo P1800 Cyan count as “new”? B/C if so... fuck it. I’ll make it work.
If I need more capacity I guess it’s passenger duty for a year. But I’ll tell you what, I’d drive the snot out of that car.
-
@gamecat235 Oh no! It's not new and the genie has decided that you're now going to be joining Smallbear in the ocean.
-
@CB you have the right choice in the right color here. Since you already called it and I have slightly better roads, V60 Polestar for the ohlins manual adjust shocks and electric+twincharged AWD.
-
@cb
It's not going to be released on my continent but I am rather smitten with the new electric 500. I'd take the 3+1 in the copper/rose gold in a heartbeat.
-
@cb Hands down:
If I'm being honest, I'd probably end up buying it after my "genie lease" was up. #dailydriver
-
@cb stupid genie. I never liked magic anyway.
-
@cb E63s wagon. Jack of all trades. Master of ALL. In dark green pleeeeeze
-
@gamecat235 I've learned to never trust magical beings. It's much safer that way.

Sounds like you need to cut a few wheels out of the equation!

The Volvo V-60 Polestar plug-in hybrid wagon with Öhlns shocks.

-
@cb I would say thanks, but no thanks, and continue enjoying my twenty year old truck and forty year old motorcycles.
-
@long_voyager94 oooh the best color too!
Coworker next to me has a 392 Charger. He loves it. He's tracked it too - said it was a lot of fun even if it didn't exactly belong with the weight.
