I had every C&H book as a kid. Now as an adult, these make me extremely depressed.

I still really love C&H. But even though I don’t have kids of my own I find myself sympathizing with Calvin’s dad more and more.

@ttyymmnn True story, I once had a clipping of Calvin with the combed hair and glasses and the "being miserable builds character!" quote as a forum avatar somewhere.

I was up till 4 last night working on a project. I've got character out the wazoo!

There are a limited number of personal past times I share with both my children.
The largest ones of them are a shared love of Chvrches (the band, I've seen them 5 times, my son has seen them with me 4 times, and my daughter has seen them once with us), LEGO, and Calvin and Hobbes. My C&H books from my childhood have been passed down to my brother, my son, and now my daughter.
I tend to think of all three of these aspects as reasonable victories in life.

I still have all the books. I don't understand why they make you depressed now. Maybe something about that I acquired the books as a young adult and you got them as a kid?

@ttyymmnn score is still 2-1 dad.

@vincentmalamute Because like other comics, it's "too true" and "too close."
