TBT - Old Oppo PoTD

I know it's Friday, shut up. I was busy.
Welcome to "Old Oppo Post of The Day"--a semi-regular series in which I present to you an archived kinja-Oppo post of my choosing. It may be a well thought out, informative piece. It may be a build post. It may be a shitpost I deem worthy of particular praise. Or, it may simply be chosen at random.
Today, I present to you, Regarding them stealthy Explorer police Interceptors by @Dusty-Ventures.

@smallbear That was a good one. I have used that trick many times since then.

I was going to say the same thing. I even pointed this out to my wife a few weeks ago and she asked where I learned that.
I said " I'm not sure probably Oppo".

@vondon302 The amount of random-ass stuff I've learned here is staggering. Also, Oppo is the best IT department ever.

@shop-teacher You and me both

It looks like I commented back then with the same thought that occurred to me just now: if I’m close enough to see the roof rails, it’s already too late!

Yeah. It's too bad the images are still on kinja though... have a feeling they're going byebye at some point. But there's more than one archive to work with for this stuff, anyways. Unfortunately @Jb-boin's didn't catch this post.

I'm so glad people are actually using this! I do think the images are going to go away at some point but unless we can get in touch with someone on the inside we don't know when. Even the writers who hang out in Discord that work or have worked for Jalopnik don't seem to know. As soon as I have some time I'll try poking around at it more. My first attempt seemed to work well for some image types and not others - GIFs didn't animate and PNG files were huge. It also took forever. I ran it on the images from my posts - just the images no images in comments - and it took several hours... and that is just 700 out of the 400,000 posts. I know there is room for improvement but we'll see how far I can actually take it before the images get deleted.

That's good to know.
even if the car is fitted with the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
I've never heard of indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting being fitted to a car but the three exclamation marks make it sound very exclusive.

You can see they're sleeker than usual from a long way away though, farther than it's possible to tell why. Far enough to nail the brakes and screw up the reading.
Fun fact, hybrid Yukons and Tahoes also have no roof rails. And while they're easy to tell from the front, from the back at anything other than point blank range they look like cops. It doesn't help that for some reason the Yukon hybrid has the same lights as the Tahoe instead of the normal Yukon lights.

Sounds like a Japan-only trim level as described by Top Gear
