My wife committed a cardinal sin.

This is what happens when you work from home and don't go out to the garage for a few days. I know that with that spoiler that rear deck is a handy table, but NO. I'm also wondering why in the hell we subscribe to the newspaper if she doesn't read the damn thing.

Funny that. We also subscribe, but not it's an electronic subscription, except that we still get a wednesday and sunday physical paper. My wife said it is actually cheaper than if we specified electronic only (strange). So, she reads on her phone, and twice a week, I have to pick up a paper from our lawn and put it in the recycling. We do gat an included puzzle book that the wife likes, and the coupon pages are useful for grocery shopping.

I didn't think any newspapers actually still delivered a regular paper edition. We canceled ours probably 10 years ago.

@chariotoflove The coupons are the reason she gives but she hasn't used a paper coupon in a long, long time. She always has them on her phone.

@jminer There's still a couple that deliver in my city, I looked into maybe subscribing a couple of years ago, since I still have the plastic delivery box from the previous owner and am not opposed to the idea of reading through a physical paper. However, the subscription prices actually seem kind of crazy, IIRC, it was over $50 a month ($600 a year) to get my local paper at the time, and that was at least double the maximum I'd be willing to spend. I'd figure its the same thing that happened with cigarettes and landline phones, the less customers there are, the more prices have to go up to compensate, which then counter-intuitively creates less customers.

I am personally glad that she doesn't give me coupons to remember anymore. Ours are electronic too, but the flyers are helpful when I am making a shopping list.

Vehicles are not shelves. My wife occasionally pulls that stunt. 😞

When I travel I like to drink coffee and like to read the paper at breakfast. Just feels right.

@pos_camaro Last summer, I had just finished a detail job on the 4Runner. Clay, polish, glaze, etc, etc...the whole shebang. I go inside for a moment. I come out to my neighbor, opening a box of squirt guns, on the hood of the $runner. You know the kind of packaging, that on the back of the box there are wire ties/screws holding the toys to the cardboard. She's spinning the box around, and i walked up and snatched it from her. Scratched the hell out of the hood, it ended up being mostly superficial scratching that I was able to polish out.

Her response "did I do that? You should have told me not to put the box there." I do not care for my neighbors.

@rallywrench Exactly! You'll notice that the paint is exactly pristine. It doesn't even rise to the level of "terrible" so I'm not concerned about damage. I just don't want to go out there and find it buried under a bunch of crap.

@mm54 Thank you. It's definitely grounds for divorce, but then that's her one to my many so I might let it go. This time!

@classicdatsundebate It was nice of her to tuck it in with a nice blanket before she turned it into a shelf.

@ranwhenparked We still get a physical paper delivered. It was great in getting the kids to read. It was the only thing allowed at the table. They start with the comics but move on pretty quick. We were really annoyed when they stopped having the Wall Street Journal physically printed where we are. My 15 year old stock portfolio hasn't done as well.. I'm not kidding about that either.

As a curator I'm not supposed to advocate such things.

                                          But I ain't gonna argue...
