LEGO-Jeep-Wrangler-Rubicon-42122_Prod-1024x739.jpg Lego has just revealed the new Technic Jeep Wrangler Rubicon set! It will retail for $49.99 and will be available starting January 1st, 2021. Judging by the pictures, it appears to have a sort of pendular suspension as well as working steering, a working winch, and new tire pieces. More info here: link text

While it looks very silly... IT ONLY HAS TWO DOORS!!!!* And that, my friends, is a win.

*my wife wants a four door... ergo, I (shivers) want a four door.

        Enjoy every sandwich.

@jeepoftheseus I was prepared to scream out loud in anger if it had four doors. No reason to model the four door when people don't actually have to be transported in it.

Thank you for keeping us abreast of this earth-shaking development. Now I just have to keep from dying in whatever remaining catastrophes 2020 has in store for us.

            On walkabout. Back soonish.

@awesomeaustinv I like it! Will add to the collection. Thought about getting the new Defender, but I like this better (and it's cheaper!).

How did they not get this out before Christmas?

@davesaddiction It's one of next year's sets. Lego releases sets in waves, and this one just happens to be in the January wave. There's always next Christmas if you're looking to gift one or be gifted one, of course.

@awesomeaustinv I'm more excited about this:

@krustywantout That one is also interesting, although I find it funny that the Ferrari uses the same wheels that were first introduced in the Land Rover Defender set. I'm also disappointed that Lego's stopped including transmissions in Technic cars of this scale. If you want to shift Lego gears now, the only way to do so is to spend several hundred dollars on one of the giant supercar sets 😞

@just-jeepin Lego also made an official Jeep CJ5 set back in the seventies, but it's a lot more basic. It did have working steering, though, so that's neat.

@awesomeaustinv My brother still has the original AWD 4wheel steering lego:

I have the orange Porsche GT3 with the paddle shift. But my favorite lego is the Mercedes truck:

I had the original pneumatic sets when I was a kid so this set was a bit of nostalgia. My father knew someone who worked at the Lego factory in Enfield, CT so we'd get sets for 50% off or less. Those were the good old days.

@whoistheleader There's a reason for people who want a model of their exact Jeep. Otherwise, yeah, get the 2 door.

@awesomeaustinv We grew up poor so that was about the only way we could afford legos. I do know someone who's husband works for Lego setting up their big displays but haven't pulled the trigger on using that connection. Maybe on the Coliseum.
