      And it's kind of odd.

@manwich I thought of it more as... I have to work on my truck, but I don't want to get out of bed...so here's a compromise.....

Honestly, when I took the engine out of my wife’s Grand Vitara, that would have been really useful. I couldn’t find an indicator on cost though.

I've never seen a topside creeper with a mechanism like that before, and am very pleased to see that it just pivots around the average user's center of mass without complicating things through motors or hydraulics. Very simple and elegant!

@mr-ontop Soo an inversion table but you are facing the wrong way lol. I wouldn't be surprised if this is where the idea came from. At least for the using the body for leverage. So many of the old timer guys I've worked with have inversion tables so I wouldn't be surprised if one looked at a creeper and was like why not both?

This job is not kind to our spines. I've been tossing around the idea of getting an inversion table myself.

But to be honest, that invention looks like it could be pretty useful.

@mr-ontop That would be incredibly helpful for working on the Tahoe. Being short doesn't help. But, the two times I've done spark plugs my stomach has been a mass of bruises from hanging my self over the fender with my legs out for balance. Also, when changing the oil pressure sensor. I took the hood off for that so I could sit down on the windshield to get to it. This would have been very nice in all of those cases.

@mr-ontop Well, that's the curse of fashion - sometimes it moves in ways that aren't flattering to a person and you're left with no good options! The fashion world managed twice in my lifetime to convince people to wear platforms and bellbottoms (which look hideous on everyone) after all.

@nowhere I remember the scourge of bellbottoms in the 70s. I thought we had purged that atrocity?

@mr-ontop Well, the fashionistas didn't manage to convince men to put them on again during the second heyday in the latter part of the 90s/early 00s at least. The bellbottoms were bad enough but back then I was acquainted with an orthopedic surgeon and I remember his dismay at platforms making a comeback. He said something along the lines of "The damn anklesnappers are back!"
