DOTS: What’s under the tarp?!?
-
It’s a King Midget! I bet he’s on his way to the annual King Midget Jamboree that starts tomorrow in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Jamboree -
@kiltedpadre he should be driving it there.
-
@pip-bip He'd have had to leave a lot earlier.
-
@old-busted-hotness minor detail.
-
@pip-bip I would love to road trip a King Midget from my house to Athens, Ohio where they were built. We recently took a trip there and it took about 2.5hrs.
In a King Midget I’d probably need 7-8. -
@kiltedpadre It’d be worth the trip just for stuffed breadsticks from Campus Pollyeyes.
-
@just-jeepin Unfortunately I’m on call this weekend so I can’t travel that far.
In a couple years the event is planned for Athens, Ohio in Hocking Hills, and I’m going to try and get a cabin for a few days and spend one day at the Jamboree. -
I wonder if it would be better off without the cover. The flapping fabric can't be good for the paint. Or for the fabric.
I made the mistake of not fully securing a tarp before. After a long trip, the tarp was shredded where it was allowed to flap. That's when I bought my first bed net.
I consider a big tarp and bed net to be essential gear for a truck. -
@kiltedpadre All I see is this, and now I'm hungy.
-
@bicyclebuck Nah, lots of random straps....
-
In all the wrong places....
-
@kiltedpadre Very cool! I love that it's so small, it fits on a single axle utility trailer, no problem.
-
@kiltedpadre Oh shit, that's this weekend? For some reason I thought it was in Bowling Green Kentucky, not Ohio. That's only like 2 hours away...
-
@kiltedpadre Hmm maybe a Nash?
-
@shop-teacher And it’s being towed by a small Toyota.
-
@qaaaaa If I weren’t on call this weekend I’d go.
-
@tripper It’s definitely a King Midget. It makes a Metropolitan look big.
-
@kiltedpadre I was looking through their schedule, is there actually a normal show? Looks like it's just a three day cruising thing
-
@qaaaaa Hmm, normally they do a show that’s open to the public. I wonder if the members only drive-in took it’s place in a nod to COVID safety?
-
@kiltedpadre That would make a lot of sense, given the average age of a King Midget owner
-
@kiltedpadre And very careful planning to avoid the roads were you're most likely to get fun over by a F250 with a texting driver
Wonder if these are allowed in the shoulder, like Amish buggies?
-
@ranwhenparked I don’t know, but I think I’d have a whip antenna with a bright orange flag like the guys that ride the really low recumbent bikes use.
