@hfv Fuck dude, if that's in good condition, that's awesome. What a coke fueled adventure you could have with that!
-
@hfv it's very german, or very toyota. looks like a lot of fun!
-
@beefchips it does say it has low compression, so it's probably time to get over-bored.
-
@hfv
Yeah I'd be planning on a rebuild...which would have to be factored in to the budget. -
@silentbutnotreallydeadly here's a better option, similar style, but it already has a newer outboard on it.

@hfv me when I buy this boat
-
@hfv Well, look who is showing off their Johnson!
-
@hfv how German are you?
-
@italia like 10%, but my wife is at least 70%
-
@italia Toyota livery tho
-
@forsweden yes, but at 60mph
-
@hfv Too bad it needs a $20,000 engine.
-
@hfv New? It's a 22 year old 2 stroke known for being a pain in the ass to keep running. I am sure it sounds all kinds of amazing when it's wound up, but that's not the motor I would want.
-
@hfv I get the feeling you would like a Hydrostream.....

-
@hfv That looks amazing.
-
@forsweden pictured: the correct use of a trolling motor...

I love it! It doesn't look too big, but it has that sleek and racy look of the larger open-water speed boats.
The life lesson I took as a kid was 'never own a boat, but always have a friend with one' -- as I've gotten older, I've softened on that position, especially as I'd like my kiddo to learn wake boarding and barefoot waterskiing (some of the most fun I ever had on water). If I get a spit of land on water as I hope to some day, I'll seek out a Scarab 195 Open. I like the idea that they are small boats that are easy to tow, yet still can haul the family and have attachments for wake boards and waterskiing.
An in-board would likely be a bit smoother, and is what I spent my youth being towed by (Mastercraft Prostar V8), but they tend to be beefier and much more monies.
-
@sovande
Surely you could get the engine it has running well for far less?
-
@newjoekazyou are correct. there's a bare haul, just like that first one, that i drive by regularly, and I always think, "that boat looks like a lot of fun, with nice 150-175 on the back." It'd probably be much cheaper to buy that one thats already been restored, and updated.
-
@hfv looking good ... maybe a bit more brown ?
-
@hfv I showed my wife this boat yesterday lol...I said this was straight of the 70s. She just said "no"
-
So you gonna buy that sweet thing?
-
@hfv there are 2 of these in close proximity to me? There was nearly a carbon copy of this one on the Milwaukee Craigslist last year. Only difference was it had the original engine still.
