Text size

I'm great with the overall layout, however, my old ass eyes would like the default text for the body of the post to be embiggened. Is this possible? I feel like the text size on kinja was slightly bigger and more readable. Again, old guy here. Also, get off my lawn.

Hello, fellow old.
I've made the same comment. LOL
-
Is this better?
-
@Hooker Hold ctrl and scroll your mouse wheel or hit plus to embiggen text. That's what I've got right now. I think we may end up needing to build a custom skin, but that's not going to happen right now.
-
@jminer Haha. I was going to do that but it affects ALL websites I deal with then! But, I digress, I understand the pains you're going through to make this happen! I'll break out my magnifying glass!! Thank you!

@hooker On Chrome those zoom settings only impact that page. It does keep them when you go back though.
-
@hooker What browser are you using? Firefox will remember zoom functions PER WEBSITE and you can also set it to zoom text ONLY and not all the other content on the page!

How you pull that off? I tried so hard to figure out header sized text. That's overkill, but still.
-
If you put a - or a = by itself (nothing else) on the line below some text, you get:
this, or
this.
-
Other than that, it's CAPS or Bold.
-
@jminer I'll do that, then! I use Chrome exclusively now, however, have to use IE for work. Which sucks. Thank you for the udpate!

Check the User Guide - I just updated it with an explanation of how to do that!

@rallydarkstrike Thanks, I also just saw the Smallbear post as well. I tried SOOOOO many html tags to get it to happen and all it needed was a hyphen... on the line below it! I wonder if that might be the key to coloured text as well...
-
@rallydarkstrike I also found this link: Markdown Reference that list some formatting things that all seem to work on this board as well.
Italic Text using * or _ on either sides
Bold Text using ** or __ on either sideHeading
using ## then a space then text or - underneath it
Heading
using # then a space then text or = underneath it
You can have a horizontal rule with with *** or ___ it is hella faint in the editor though
and then various ways of doing quotes and lists. I did all these with the alternate methods that the editor doesn't default to.
Colour seems like it might require a plugin to function within posts. But honestly, I'm pretty jazzed to have headings for long form posts. I wish there was a smaller one, but beggars and choosers and whatnot.
-
This is a quote.
Use > at the beginning of a line.
-
Wow all this html-ish editing takes me back to my myspace days.
-
-
@davesaddiction LOL!
That definitely helps right now. -
@rallydarkstrike It's General Motors, I love them, but also, what do you expect? Their excuse for not going Chrome was "it updates so often and we can't keep up" You mean, you're a multi-billion (WITH A B!) dollar corporation and you can't keep up with web browser updates? Face meet palm.

Yeah....that sounds about right, LOL
