Crappy 90s fwd GM cars and I want several.

yes.

yes.
why notwhy am i like this
-
@derp
I had a black 91 cavalier z24 that looked a lot like that beretta. -
oof
-
@derp My parents had an '88 Beretta that had the 2.8l V6. Not all that exciting but it was incredibly reliable. They put over 200k on it in 5 years and that thing didn't miss a beat.
-
@derp I loved my '88 Cutlass Supreme Indy Pace Car replica. 'Twas a good car.
-
@derp Why "crappy"? They're just cars, not as good as some maybe, but a hell of a lot better than others. Why the derision?
-
@mark-tucker there's a reputation, deservedly or not.
it's just a thread title. I did say i want several
-
@derp Many yes to the GTP and Baretta. If memory serves, McLaren had some hand in the GTP, and those wheels are the business!
-
@derp My grandfather had 5th and 6th gen Grand Prixs. I like the 5th gen a lot. He totaled that one in a crash and didn't die so I guess that indicated it had some worth. After he killed the second one he got a bubble Taurus, which was a pretty terrible replacement.
-
@derp I've been trying to figure out why I'm also drawn to these cars. It's gotta be more than just '90s cars being my preferred era to wrench on... I think I may have found the answer- maybe it's that this comes shortly before aerodynamics dictated optimal body shapes and corporate grilles started to kill off so many unique faces. It seems like these are some of the last cars to have genuinely distinct styling.
Oh! I almost forgot visibility. Yes, that's definitely part of it as well. I love a good greenhouse that I can comfortably see out of without having to resort to a backup camera, and these fit the bill so much better than any of the rolling bunkers offered today.
-
@derp I always liked that Beretta and Grand Prix. Before everything went all bubbly.
-
@derp I like Berettas quite a bit. I'd very much like to have a Quad-4 GTU Beretta.
Incidentally, I may acquire a FWD 90s GM that has nothing to do with the Beretta...
-
@derp this is a tough decision, I am not sure if I would go Cutlass or Beretta.
I saw a black 4 door Grand Am in that body style a couple of days ago that in shockingly good condition.
-
@pos_camaro My parents had an '88 Grand prix with the 2.8, which I assume was their version of the same car.
It was pretty high tech at the time. IIRC it even had a heads up display for the speedo.

Both could be had with a Quad 4 and a stick... but they're both good cars with the V6/auto too. That is a tough call.
-
@derp I'll take the GTP out of that bunch, but don't forget the Bonneville SSEi!
-
@ibrad Fancy! I was overseas when they bought it but as I remember it their Beretta didn't have much in the way of options. Except now that I think of it, I think it was two-tone.
-
You forgot about the Pontiac Bonneville SSE
-
Iβve owned three!
First car:
Second car:
And of course, Jolene.
-
that first one is a nice color

-
@mazda616 those red accents on the black body are the bomb, nice job!
-
@derp white cavalier plz.
-
@shop-teacher Nope. Think bigger, less Chevy, more "old." Hint: MY 1998.
