I taught myself how to make mods for @Automation and thought I'd share them and, well, now I unintentionally have four of the ten most popular items on the Steam Workshop in the last week. If anyone wants to check them out they're here, although obviously we can't use them for any of our challenges.

@essextee I've seen lots of cool automation interiors but every time I look into doing them, everyone basically agrees that it's hard to actually do and takes a lot patience and finagling. Do you have the secret?

@civicwagonengineer Yeah, didn't work well for me. Feels like that whole area needs a lot more development, and many more art assets.

To be fair, it's in a coachbuilt Italian car which would've had parts-bin running gear. Plenty of similar real world models (Ferrari 400, Lamborghini Espada, Iso Lele, Bitter SC) used American automatic transmissions.

@facw There used to be tons but then the game moved to a new engine and everything was made incompatible. Mod makers are still making mods for themselves and others but they don't get shared publicly.

@civicwagonengineer The only difficult part is that you can't grab interior parts to adjust them from outside the car. You have to finagle the camera so that it swings inside and it's hard to get the right view to actually do anything.
