Smoke em if you got em Part 2 - De-crudding.
-
Tonight is that night, the night that separates the men from the boys. The night that shows who can handle the grit and the grime, and mould, and schmoo.
Overall it was easier than it looks. Smokers don’t get super hot so nothing fully bakes on. Combine that with heinously strong cleaners and a steam cleaner and pretty much everything came off. I may go over that last bits with a scraper or wool, but that’s later. I WILL be buffing the heater element with wool because I want it clean and effective - something I read should be done periodically.
Lower drip shield soaking in APC.
Steam cleaner getting up to full power.
After scrubbing the heater element
I initially though about cleaning this in the garage, but after seeing the black water rub off when APC was applied, I picked it up and went outside.
Bunch of scrubbing, steaming, and rinsing later…
Going to give the “shed” it lives in a thorough clean as it’s full of cobwebs. Will post that up when I do it.

Yeah, my garage is almost never dirty. The "builders" (see renovators) painted it but they used a shitty paint and did a shitty job, it's pulling up where the tires sit. I want to redo it with a proper epoxy coat but that means sanding it all off which is a huge undertaking. click together tile flooring would work but it's a lot of money and we're not ready for that right now.
