I played for a commencement ceremony at a rather exclusive local private school on Saturday, and spotted this gem in the parking lot. Based on the cars I usually see there, I'm guessing it's a faculty member. Such glorious imperfection.

The green on that truck is like red on a Ferrari. Even if you see a yellow or blue one you think of that color and whether it started life in that color.

@ttyymmnn Let's see how well I do at identification. I'm guessing 1969 - 1972. I believe that in 1973, the GMC trucks switched to a vertical marker light in the front and got rid of the marker light on the rear.

@roadkilled You're in the ballpark. '73 was the first year of the square body style, so before that. Post-'68 because it has side marker lights (not required prior to that). I could narrow it down further if I could see the grille.

Pappy had a black GMC, didn't he?

@ttyymmnn He did, with a 454 big block that got like 6 MPG. I remember him complaining about that. Probably that same body/generation.
