I've been banging my head all summer trying to get my Honda Ruckus running. Replaced a gazillion parts from fuel pumps, fuel lines, carb jets, ignition coil, spark plug, basically everything I can do.

Caved and dropped it off at the local Honda Powersports shop. They were so backlogged with bikes that I dropped the bike off July 2, and it wasn't ready until August 4th. The problem they found was a stuck intake valve. So a quick shim later, the bikes up and running again!

The Metroparks around my home are great roads to cruise on. I love getting the biker wave from folks on full size bikes. I may have missed an entire summer of riding, but better late than never.

Hmmm yes, the engine is made out of engine #GritMeetsGrease

@rallydarkstrike Most of the cost was diagnosis and labor. $190 out the door

@i86hotdogs I get the bug for one of these sometime around October every year, haven't pulled the trigger yet. Summer is too damn hot to ride that in Houston and have "fun".

@i86hotdogs Not bad at all! I really should get my bike license and a cheap scooter to tinker with and put around on...

See if they'll let you rallycross it (they won't)

@i86hotdogs Awesome! I love these ruckus bikes, they just look so good.

A stuck valve makes sense as to why your tune-up didn't fix it. Also a quite reasonably priced repair from the dealer.

@RallyDarkstrike Yes- yes you should get a scooter. They're cheap to buy, repair and operate! Also a hoot to ride.

@i86hotdogs I don’t toss the biker wave to a lot of scooters… Rucki (my plural terms for Ruckusses, Ruckupodes) get the wave and usually a nod.

@i86hotdogs Ruckuses are so cool, makes me think of Key West, too. Those things are almost as common as F-150s down there, along with Zumas.
