I think I found the inapiration for the iX's front. Yeah, yeah, the iX is a mole rat bla bla, im kind of done with that. This 2000cs connection is an interesting thru-line. I'd love to take a peek at the iX sketch wall.

This chunky little inbetweener sedan is kinda neat. Proportions suggest it's a smaller vehicle, maybe a kind of 1 or 2 series. I'd rock it.

You'd think it would be the CS Vintage Concept as well, but honestly I think that's too smooth for your midpoint:

@facw yea, I forgot about these! Was the CS Vintage an official concept? A little smoother, but otherwise spot on!
BMW almost never goes retro on their production cars, but it would have been cool to see another throwback, like the Z8 was.
