Seems like a LOT of fun for <$5k (if it stays)

@snakesm13 Because you are a man of exquisite taste. Hear hear!
-
@snakesm13 I want one SO BAD
-
@snakesm13 Nice Price. I want it but am 3,000 short.
-
@snakesm13 I think very little chance it stays under 5k
-
@snakesm13 Oh, it won't stay there. Maybe won't hit full retail, but I'd be surprised if it doesn't at least hit 5 figures
-
@snakesm13 I see these at local autocross and nowhere else. They do a lot better there than would be expected with the puny engine. They also make the MR2 look big.
-
@snakesm13 Oh man, that would be a FUN little ride!
When are you bidding?
-
@snakesm13 and it could fit in a small shed

I would assume it would be down right scary with the size of cars these days.... My Spitfire felt like a big wheel sized toy on the highway.

If it were any closer....
-
@snakesm13 Pretty sure those are like $25000 cars in the North American market

I hope not, I passed up one for $7,500 a year or so ago and it had A/C.

Having driven a '62 AH Sprite down the interstate, it is pretty small. The top of truck tires being level with the top of your head is an interesting (and VERY loud) sensation.

agreed. here these sell for like 20k, more than a nice MX-5. despite being worse in literally every way. i like the cap, but they're small, slow economy cars. paying MX-5 money for one is absurd

@longtime-lurker The only Cappuccinos worth $20,000 in America are the rare Limited trim models. Any regular Cappuccino should be no more than like ~$12,000. And getting a Limited really only gets you a cool blue paint color and wood trim. Not worth the extra cash, IMO.
I regularly find them on Facebook Marketplace for under $10k. They have more value than a Honda Beat, but was less value than an Autozam AZ-1
-
@snakesm13 less than 5 k I would pull the money out of my savings right now.
-
@mybirdistheword $6,300 wasn’t too far off!
-
@snakesm13 nice.
-
@snakesm13 uhh... Thats NP. Why could I never find stuff like this when I was looking?

Because in my experience the universe* is usually against great automotive purchases.
'*or bank account, significant other, global pandemic...
