Went and Played This Weekend.

With no prior engagements on Saturday, we decided to venture over to Fl4tfest at Madison International Speedway to go play on their overlanding course.Well, the Rally Van still holds her own against the AWDs, initially tackling the course, even the swampy woods section with ease.
After running the course a few times, we decided to take a walk and check out the rest of the event. The camera got left in the van, so no pictures other than this:
We watched Auto-x for a bit, then wandered through the show, then decided to go back for another run and call it a day.
Little known to us, between the rain and the boys with MTs coming out, the woods trail had gotten destroyed.
About halfway through, we ended our journey.....We came down on top of the solid ground between the ruts, high centering on the K member up front and frame mid van.
After an hour of digging, 2 Subarus chained together winching, and some determination, we finally got her out. After which she managed the rest of the woods course without hiccup.
With the van well coated in swamp mud inside and out, we called it a day and headed home. -
@long_voyager94 fun was had till it wasn't

I really enjoy driving through the woods, but you can keep the mud. Cleanup sucks. We had a dirt driveway for many years and I was responsible for cleanup when things got muddy.
But your adventure did look like lots of fun! The Rally Van is certainly a lot more capable in the mud than my WRX would be.

@bicyclebuck Once in a while, it's fun to just get it covered. The inside cleanup for 6 hours yesterday and the smell of swamp mud inside this morning however are not much fun....
She holds her own in most conditions, even this clay/mud wasn't giving issue, that is until we got hung up. -
@long_voyager94 Sounds like a pretty good day overall!

@shop-teacher It was a great day. Even the getting stuck was fun.
Made me realize I need to get my winch mount built and my winch wired in. -
Some of the most fun I've had off road resulted in getting stuck. Usually I'm laughing while walking for help after burying something.
Mad props for taking it out right after completely redoing it

@long_voyager94 I think I know your doppelganger, although he is a bit older and has more grey in his goatee.

I was a little leery about taking it through the woods course as I was told it was tight, but I figured "Hey, it's what I built it for" and sent it.
