Further to the prang the other day.

After the prang the other day and the woman eventually owning up the next day.
https://opposite-lock.com/topic/1879/someone-pranged-the-car-last-night/2
I notified her today I was going the insurance route.
Got some pics of her car. 11 plate silver Suzuki Swift.
Got a call from the garage to say they were given the go ahead to proceed, then I had to call the insurance to arrange the rental car, just finishing off the call when Enterprise car rentals phoned to see when to arrange the car for.
Garage is coming Friday morning for the car, Enterprise are dropping off the car on Friday at about the same time.
Apparently they will be providing a similar size car after last time giving a Hyundai i30.The car they say they may have available is the Vauxhall Grandland X
We'll have to see what turns up.
EDIT: Sorry, wrong car, now replaced. I put up the Crossland X not the Grandland X, now showing.
-
"Grandland"?
-
the garage i always used would always give the shops own terror
i always loved that little rattlecan
far as i know they still use it (but then...the garage is run by 2 old boys...they keep everything running long past its shelf date) -
That Grandland looks dreadful. Not very much to look at and probably not very much to drive either. Sorry you have to deal with this.
-
@svend that's the previous generation of Grandland X, the new one is more decent :
EDIT: Sorry, i posted while you were editing !
-
@whoistheleader
Sorry. I posted the Crossland X, not the Grandland X. But I've changed it now. -
@jb-boin
No. It's the Crossland X.
I mixed the two up.
I've changed it now.
-
@derpwagon
I posted the wrong car. I posted the Vauxhall Crossland X, not the Grandland X.
The Grandland X is the largest of the three SUVs (yes, I know our SUVs are smaller than U.S. SUVs and they'd be more CUV or something to the U.S.).
There's the new
Mokka
Crossland X
and
Grandland X

Y'all got some strange names for mediocre Buicks over there
I just thought the name was amusing, that's all. I hope your prang is quickly and adequately resolved!
-
@farscythe
A friend whose cars I've looked after for years, her son bought the garage loaner.The water and oil stained interior loaner.
Per-cleaning.
Thankfully it cleaned up rather well.
-
@svend lol...i bet that garage was surprised when they got the loaner back
-
@derpwagon
As far as I'm aware they are nothing to do with Buick, in fact some of the Buicks have been rebadged Opel/Vauxhalls.
Cascada, Encore (Mokka) and Regal (Insignia).Ye', we get some odd names.
Take the Honda Jazz (Fit) Crosstar.
Obviously a crossover thing but is Crosstar meant as Cross-tar or Cros-star?
-
@farscythe
No, he bought the loaner off the garage. Lol.It was his first car.
-
lol well..thats slightly less funny..but i bet it was a bargain
-
@farscythe
It was a short while back but I think they said it was around £200-400. -
@svend Your rental will be the cleanest one Enterprise has ever had brought back to them.
-
@chariotoflove
Well, second one.
The i30 was the first. Lol.
I took some scratches out and removed some overspray from the rear passenger door shut and a few stains from the seats.
That was back in 2016.
The Enterprise place has closed and is now a drive through car wash and coffee shop (will be when it's finished in the next couple of months or so).The place the next car is coming from is on London Road and they really don't look after their cars. They use a floor brush to wash the cars (or did when I last saw them a few years back).
-
@svend said in Further to the prang the other day.:

I don't know of any combination car washes and coffee shops. I like the idea.
-
@chariotoflove I would like to get a seat by the window and watch the clean cars roll by. But then I'd think of the microscratches and shudder.
-
@svend Is it just me, or would Grandland make a great name for a big box-style discount department store? Kind of a Sears-meets-Target thing. Probably makes sense, as I'd expect these would fill the parking lots of such a place.
-
@ranwhenparked
Lol. You mean like Poundland!?
-
@svend That came to mind. Also, over here, we have Target Greatland and Sears Grand
-
@svend Is this different from Pound Town?
I'm sure you've heard us Americans giggle at these names before...
-
@chan
Lol. Isn't Pound Town south of-
Or is it on Orkney, Scotland near-
