DOTS - Walmart has the best people.

Air show is tomorrow and rain might come through during the day, so I went to Walmart to buy a cheap canopy. Came back to my car to find this fuckwad making it nearly impossible to back out and drive away.
Went around through a spot and back down. This is how much he was hanging out.
And the award for parents of the year goes to…..
Walmart - you won’t want to live on this planet anymore.
-
@someoneatacura If you feel that bad after a trip to Walmart, you really don't want to experience the breakfast crowd at Denny's
-
@someoneatacura how dare you disparage my neighbour??
For real though, I’m there once a day. Shop at 10pm, you don’t have to see people
-
I’m usually busy being a parent/adult at 10pm. Don’t have time to buy extra heep parts and things to get my car unstuck. Btw I have a shovel you can have.
-
@someoneatacura Free shovel! I have for some reason, 4 shovels already, which is approx 3 too many for somebody who lives in a 500 squarefoot condo.
-
@ranwhenparked To find that out you first must become part of the problem

My father in law always buys me tools because he came over to do one project and I didn’t have the exact tool for the job. He buys the same tools nearly every time. I have 3 hammers, 3 tape measures, 2 shovels (I don’t have grass anymore!), a bunch of very specific chisels and punches.
It’s thoughtfully annoying.

@someoneatacura FB marketplace! Meet some walmart shoppers 1 on 1!
Also, TEAM DAY/MONTH/YEAR lol
-
The very best of Pitt/Maple Ridge right there!
But you're a 10 at Walmart, right?
That's why we all go back.

@someoneatacura
I work for the U.K. arm (though it's being bought away from them) of walmart.
A customer yesterday told a lesbian colleague to decide whether she wants to be a boy or a girl.
There was simply a home shopping trolley (not he's) that was in the way of a product he wanted. She moved the trolley and apologised, that's when he got a case of 'I'll be a git', she was upset but thankfully one of the managers went out and spoke to him and banned him from the store and any other store in the company. -
@someoneatacura I thought the title was going to be uplifting, but after reading @Mazda616's post about Facebook and then this, I'm reminded that people are dumb and suck.

@someoneatacura
My four year old son is more qualified than some random canine to stickhis headmost of his body out the car window...whilst in motion. Besides he has an allergy to seatbeltsand it's not my fault -

It's hard for me to estimate how well that truck would have fit in one space laterally (the mirrors would certainly need to be tucked in). I'll concede that some trucks are just too wide to even try, considering that even if it fits between the lines, you still need some room to open doors...
But as for longitudinally, I'm a firm believer that hanging out into the aisle is far worse and affects more people than occupying two back-to-back spaces.
Now the question becomes, how do you even park a truck like this when the parking spaces are offset like that? Is it even possible to take up fewer than three spaces at once in an attempt to stay out of the aisle?
I still maintain that keeping the aisle clear is the most important thing, no matter how many spaces the truck legitimately needs. If I was driving it, I'm not sure what I'd do, except avoid the high-demand spaces close to the building and make up for my taking up multiple spaces by parking out towards the back of the lot.

10pm at Walmart here is when the real fun begins.

I'm glad the manager had the spine to do the right thing. What a git-rag!

For my truck it's rare that I can't stay within the lines width wise, but it does happen. My truck regularly hangs into the aisle though. The spots are often just too damn short. I tuck it in as best I can.
-
@shop-teacher And your truck isn't even a dually! Yes some people need more practice parking, and yes a lot of modern trucks are too big, but at some point we really need to draw attention to those responsible for bad parking lot design.
No doubt they are focusing way too hard on trying to maximize capacity, while completely ignoring the realities of how much room larger vehicles need. I'm not saying that every space needs to be big enough to accommodate a limousine or a TopKick. But they need to stop pretending that everyone drives a friggin' Miata (as wonderful of a world as that might be haha). Many parking lots would greatly benefit from sacrificing ONE measly parking space per row to distribute a few extra inches to each remaining space.
-
@urambo-tauro Exactly. As big as my truck is, it's not THAT big. It's a touch longer than a Suburban. There's a grocery store near my house that is virtually impossible for me to park in, and completely impossible for me to not park like an ass. Tiny perpendicular spots, and narrow aisles. People in regular cars struggle all the time with it.

@carsoffortlangley I had too many tools for my condo so I did the only reasonable thing.
