Remember those really crappy welds I did? They help up.

No problems keeping this in at 80 mph. In case you're curious it was tied down in 6 places.

I also dug a hole and filled it.

P.s. thanks California for the smoke

@alfalfa this is park City, where is definitely better. Bear lake was pretty gnarly.

Judging by the diameter of that post, SLC is clearly not recognised for its winds....

Congrats on the welds. That quite a load!

Take the hard road and walk it. Because hedges aren't as soft as they look.

@hammerheadfistpunch have you always had the Polaris or was that also a thing that was done?

@hammerheadfistpunch What size is that sail? I've been thinking about getting a couple to put under our pergola and get some actual shade

@alfalfa @HammerheadFistpunch I can’t see mountains either. Might be the smog, and also the fact that I’m in Houston…..

@hammerheadfistpunch Nice about the welds holding up. I would've used multiple tie-downs too, crappy welds or not. I see people holding down large loads with a single tie-down and I'm too anxious about failures for that.

Did you use any concrete in that hole?

We got hit with California's smoke yesterday too. In Colorado's Front Range. Air Quality Index above 150 where the recommendation was to stay inside. The news must be correct, those are large fires.

                    ...meh...

@zaphod-s-heart-of-gold 16x16x23. Disappointed how much the triangle cuts in. Less space than I thought

@silentbutnotreallydeadly is 1 1/4 schedule 40. Not expecting any wind loading there. We had a microburst the night before that blew deck furniture all over and knocked down branches and I went out there and stood and it was a gentle breeze at best. Very sheltered spot

@jeepoftheseus old polaris. It stopped working a few weeks ago and I'm towing it down to be worked on. I think the timing got jacked by a broken recoil.

Also an outboard in need of work. It's a pain to move this stuff around so it tends to build up
