Decided to take Friday off and take a little 4x4 trip to Whistler, then come down to Squamish to meet with @gmctavish on Saturday morning.

Day 1: Callaghan Lake & Northair Mine

Northair Mine came up on my radar Thursday night when I was scoping out the area I was hoping to go. Pretty simple to get to in anything with clearance....except for the two very large berms/trenches clearly placed there to keep out crossover drivers nogoodniks. Getting the Jeep past those was bad, getting it out was even worse, nothing like the sound of frame meeting ground.

After Northair, stopped by Alexander Falls, then drove to Callaghan Lake Provincial Park to camp with some VERY pretty views.

Slept in the Jeep...with all my gear and Targa, there wasn't a lot of room to go around. Skipped setting up my tent in the rain and mosquitoes.IMG_0521.jpg

Day 2: Stawamus Indian Arm FSR with @gmctavish in his newly acquired 4Runner

Rainy/cloudy, but a great drive with many beautiful sights. Had a little slip and fall getting the river photos and we tried our hand at a separate FSR to a remote lake....big mistake, very technical and we both didn't have adequate vehicles to conquer it.

@carsoffortlangley Is Targa handling the trip better this time around?

        On walkabout. Back soonish.

@just-jeepin way better. She handled it like a Champ! She wasn't a fan of sharing the Jeep with me, both of us had not enough room to sleep

Still a bit too much hassle to head over there, but oh man do these photos make me drool over the thought. Soon....

@carsoffortlangley Lots of abandonment. That's very cool. I love finding derelict structures in the woods.
