More progress on the RC truck playground
-
Got my bridge finished. This is all deadfall and pruned branches from my back yard.
Gave it a try, and it's not so easy. The slats are too far apart, and the truck's wheels get stuck between them. It's doable if you hit it exactly right, but that was once out of 5 tries.
So I added more slats.
Now we're talking!
I left the other side alone, so now there's an "easy" approach and a "hard" approach.
Had to try it out with a less-capable model, just to see. This is my home-built Land Rover 109.
It'll just do it, if I'm careful. Which I always am with a one-of-a-kind scratch built model that took me hundreds of hours to make.
Ok, that's enough, back on the shelf, you top-heavy fragile thing.

@mark-tucker omg do I need to do something like this in my yard. Alot cheaper than the train garden I was thinking of.
Neat! -
@mark-tucker You're really making it hard for me to resist buying an RC crawler!
-
@shop-teacher Why on earth would you resist that? Everyone should have one of these to play with. I can give you some tips on what to buy, if you like.
-
@mark-tucker Because I've been trying really hard not to take on another expensive hobby. If I do decide to take the plunge, I'll definitely reach out to you.
-
@shop-teacher Fair enough. I'll keep posting photos, and you can enjoy mine vicariously.
-
@mark-tucker I've definitely been doing that!
-
@vondon302 my wife has strongly veto'ed the G-scale loop around the fence line (I had dreams of a trestle across the back and all) but I did make a little course for my son's toy rock crawler for lockdown last year with garbage shingles and wood - it's a much lower committment if you don't intend it to be long term landscaping.
