From Dad Mobile to Fun Mobile

Heading out on a 4x4 adventure. Day 1, driving around Whistler BC and day 2 will be Squamish.
Child seat comes out, gear goes in. It's a 1 night trip, so pretty light on stuff and obviously no firewood..... Leaves Targa with lots of room to relax for a change.
Purple are planned routes for the weekend, blue is what I've driven:

@carsoffortlangley Love the setup, and I'm jealous as hell of the locale you live in. Oklahoma is pretty bleh.

@carsoffortlangley give it a few years and KoFL will be going with you.

It's not too bad, but you have to find the right places to visit. I find living in the swamp is much worse. The one exception being the color. Everything in OK is brown most of the year. When I was a kid, I always thought Dallas would be the great place to live. On our trips to visit family in Texas, it was the first place where the vegetation was really green.

@bicyclebuck Yeah, there are parts of Oklahoma that are decent, I live in Norman, and it's actually fairly nice, but I miss the mountains, rivers lakes and streams in the Northwest. I grew up in Oregon and Montana, so Oklahoma is such a drastic difference for me. The city I live in now is the largest I've ever lived in, and compared to a couple of cities by a quite drastic amount.

That’s a scary thought.

I lived in Norman while my mom attended OU. I can't say I'm a fan of that town. The only thing I really missed was the swim team. Well, the renaissance fair was neat. Alright, to be fair, it was a mixed bag of fun things and really crappy things. Living in a college town as a little kid wasn't the best experience. Maybe it was that particular college town.
Oregon and Washington were two of my favorite places to visit. I'd like to live in the mountains for a while, but it's probably never going to happen. I've lived in much larger cities and much smaller towns. After we left Norman, we moved to the country east of OKC. The nearest town didn't have a stoplight until I was a junior in high school. From there, I lived in progressively bigger cities, slowly working my way up to Houston again (I was born there). Then it was back to smaller towns. I used to shock the college kids by telling them that I moved from a city (Houston) with a population greater than the entire state of Arkansas (I was teaching at UofA).
I'd bet you are looking forward to heading back to the pacific northwest.
