@chariotoflove Whoa boy. Stay back from that mess!
-
@chariotoflove I'd feel safest driving behind the bus, or going to stop for a slushee.
-
I'm not sure why you think that a vehicle with an expired temporary tag and a taillight held on by duct tape would ever be used for sketchy transportation. I'm sure if the load starts to shift, the driver will roll down their window and reach out to grab it. That should be more than enough to stabilize it for at least 0.04 seconds.
For the truck to the left, I can't tell if that's just an old extension cord hanging out the back or if the extension cord is being used to tie down the load.

Yeah, I passed quickly after the light.
-
@roadkilled
What is this “tying down” of which you speak? Welcome to Texas. -
Bicyclists not using hand signals are far more dangerous
-
@chariotoflove You know, I was going to comment on your Mach-E post about the relative rarity of seeing a Texas temp tag that wasn't expired, but I decided it was a bit too much hyperbole. Glad to see this Suburban standing up for my prejudices (says the guy with an expired inspection... I'm going tomorrow morning)

Holy Shit, There's a hit bicyclist streak!?!

Don’t start. You know that’s one of my triggers!
-
@chariotoflove lol, memories! You never forget your younger days…..
-
@facw
Nope, not hyperbole.Funny, I was once in Ann Arbor driving to renew my tags that day when a cop stopped me for it. Fortunately for me, he decided to write for no proof of insurance. Thought he was doing me a favor. Well he was. I sent my proof in and got the ticket voided.

@shop-teacher My money is on the load coming off the front. That cyclist had better use hand signals or he might end up under a load of pallets!

Something something natural selection…
-
@chariotoflove Id still prefer to get hit with a load of pallets than a Suburban
Edit: FWIW, I sometimes use hand signals in my car. Not that I expect anyone to understand why I'm sticking my arm out the window.

@ibrad
Fair. -

@cb You've spoken the magic word, and now I have been summoned.

Slushee runs on -40 nights in Ottawa were a staple of my university learning.

Same here! (same city even!) Used to walk to Macs with my roomie after dark to get my fix. I needed "the good gloves" to carry it home.

My roommate swore -30 was the perfect temperature for slushees because they wouldn't melt or freeze more in the walk home.
Ah, what a time.

@chariotoflove
Reminds me of something I saw in Detroit a few years ago...

At least he has a tire to protect the bumper. I saw a Titan pushing a car down the road yesterday. Nothing in between. Just chrome bumper rubbing on plastic. From the dents I saw on both, they weren't being gentle about it.

@smallbear
Detroit is a long way from Dallas. He must have gotten really lost. -
@bicyclebuck
I saw an Indy cop doing that to push a car into a filling station. That can’t be SOP.
