@chariotoflove I find you can fit more in that way rather than huffing yourself into oblivion through jamming a couple of big cones into the intake...

It's a lovely little car for a niche consumer. For everyone else, it's an insanely priced Yaris if the next batch ends up selling for $50k AUD (which turns out to be nearly $50k CAD anyway).

I love it, it's the kind of fun stuff Toyota needs to keep doing.

The tall boy traffic/highway cones are pretty hefty. Hauling a half dozen a few times to do a setup is decent exercise (they're 7-10lbs a piece).

Top Gear gave it their best hot hatch of 2020 and now I'm even more mad that it's not coming here

I did not know how much I wanted this until reading the review. I thought they put a rad powertrain into a Yaris, but it sounds like they built a new car that happens to have the same name.

This thing might end up like the original R32, Clio V6, and some of the other crazy homolgation hatches in a couple decades.

Also, shoot if we get a corolla with that drivetrain... might be shopping if it's not astonishingly expensive like this is.

@spacekraken I too was surprised to read just how little of the car is actually a Yaris. It truly is a homologation special.

Love it in theory and would be an excellent replacement for my 3dr echo.... I know they're not coming here but when you get to 50k all of the sudden there are a LOT of interesting options. I think they should bring it here and sell it for regular Yaris money. I'm waiting.

@ibrad That's it, for a regular consumer who wants to spend $50k new they're probably going to move towards the bottom end of the offerings from the premium German marques like the CLA or GLA, A3, 2-series, rather than a spicy small Toyota.

@gin-san I would definitely take the Yaris over those options, but I wouldn't necessarily be shopping new. 50K could get me a nice porsche, or even a mustang or challenger

@ibrad Hence the "regular consumer", I doubt any of us on Oppo are considered "regular" lol

Used would open up a lot of fantastic options at $50k, for sure.
