Oppo Guidelines and User Manual/Guide (last updated January 10th, 2022)

@aestheticsinmotion just realized I never posted a full recap of this one (life’s been busy lately and I’ve mostly just been lurking here on Oppo)
Will type up a writeup of it tonight with gratuitous GIF usage.
-
@gibbsemphasis Excellent, looking forward to it!

Just don't forget about us once you're famous!

Have there been any site updates in the last 24 hours? My iPad Safari is very unhappy with most interactions today. Can’t reliably reply, upvoting is problematic.
-
@just-jeepin Nope, AFAIK there have been 0 changes to the site recently? Discussions on updates, but on actual changes yet?
Could clear the site cookies/data for Oppo in Safari and try again?
-
@rallydarkstrike Yeah, I tried killing the window and relaunching it, but I'll get more aggressive. I suspected the problem was local but wanted to inquire. Thanks.
-
@just-jeepin No problem friend, good luck!
-
@just-jeepin No maintenance, I'll check the logs and see if we're seeing more errors than usual though.
-
@jminer It took several iterations of clearing data and logging out but I think I’m fine now.
-
@jminer I've occasionally gotten this error
It goes away after a refresh tho... Just wanted to let you know in case you weren't aware
-
@jminer This is a new one for me.
I'm on an older Macbook Air running Safari 13. If I click on Categories and go to 'Oppositelock', infinite scroll is fine. But if I click on the Oppo icon, it breaks.
-
@flatisflat I saw that earlier, but can't seem to find it now. For a minute there, it kept showing up at the bottom of page 1 (or was it 2?) in paginated view. Win 10, Chrome
Side effect of a scheduled post, maybe?
-
@urambo-tauro Oh, interesting, it was showing up in paginated view also?
-
@flatisflat Yeah. Seems to be gone now, but I think it said "undefined" when I tried to click on the "und" thumbnail/avatar. I couldn't find any other clues as to what it was or whose post might have gotten (deleted or rescheduled?) there.
-
@urambo-tauro Yeah, I just checked again on my macbook air and it doesn't appear to be there anymore.
-
@flatisflat @Urambo-Tauro Very weird! So it's gone for both of you now then? Maybe a temporary glitch?
-
@rallydarkstrike I've been on my work computer all day (Windows / Chrome) and haven't seen this crop up again. Just checked the macbook right now and nothing there either. No idea about root cause.

Guess it was a fluke! I use Firefox on Windows and Linux and have not seen it happen for me....crossing fingers we don't see it again then!
-
@rallydarkstrike Yeah looks like it's gone on my end. Looked just like @flatisflat's pic there, blank in every field except for the "undefined" avatar. If I see it again, I'll try to poke at it with my browser's inspect tool.

@Urambo-Tauro @flatisflat Very weird....thanks for the heads up anyway though! Hopefully it stays gone!

@jminer I was thinking about making a separate post, but I think it fits better here. I dug up some of the docs that we could embed in this permanent sticky. I felt as though some of them got lost/buried.

@rallydarkstrike Saw it again! Paginated view, at the bottom of page 2 (but not page 1?).
The avatar/thumbnail is clickable, and leads to "https://opposite-lock.com/?page=2#" (essentially just a page reload). Nothing else in the blank line is clickable except the blank space on the right where you would normally see a preview of the latest post, which leads to "https://opposite-lock.com/topic//".I'm not well-versed in HTML, but I poked around with my browser's "inspect" tool anyway. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything that looked interesting. Maybe someone better-versed in this stuff will spot something. Here's the source code of everything between the last real post entry and the pagination menu:
<li component="category/topic" class="row clearfix category-item " data-tid="" data-index="" data-cid="" itemprop="itemListElement" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/ListItem"> <link itemprop="url" content="/topic/" /> <meta itemprop="name" content="" /> <meta itemprop="itemListOrder" content="descending" /> <meta itemprop="position" content="" /> <a id="" data-index="" component="topic/anchor"></a> <div class="col-md-6 col-sm-9 col-xs-10 content"> <div class="avatar pull-left"> <a href="#" class="pull-left"> <span class="avatar not-responsive avatar-rounded" alt="undefined" title="undefined" data-uid="undefined" loading="lazy" component="avatar/icon" style="width: 46px; height: 46px; line-height: 46px; font-size: 2.875rem; background-color: undefined;">undefined</span> </a> </div> <h2 component="topic/header" class="title"> <i component="topic/scheduled" class="fa fa-clock-o hide" title="Scheduled"></i> <i component="topic/pinned" class="fa fa-thumb-tack hide" title="Pinned"></i> <i component="topic/locked" class="fa fa-lock hide" title="Locked"></i> <i component="topic/moved" class="fa fa-arrow-circle-right hide" title="Moved"></i> <a href="/topic/"></a><br /> <small class="hidden-xs"><span class="timeago" title=""></span> • <a href="#"></a></small> <small class="visible-xs-inline"> <span class="timeago" title=""></span> </small> </h2> </div> <div class="mobile-stat col-xs-2 visible-xs text-right"> <span class="human-readable-number"></span> <a href="/topic//"><i class="fa fa-arrow-circle-right"></i></a> </div> <div class="col-md-1 hidden-sm hidden-xs stats stats-votes"> <span class="human-readable-number" title=""></span><br /> <small>Votes</small> </div> <div class="col-md-1 hidden-sm hidden-xs stats stats-postcount"> <span class="human-readable-number" title=""></span><br /> <small>Posts</small> </div> <div class="col-md-1 hidden-sm hidden-xs stats stats-viewcount"> <span class="human-readable-number" title=""></span><br /> <small>Views</small> </div> <div class="col-md-3 col-sm-3 teaser hidden-xs" component="topic/teaser"> <div class="card background-link-container" style="border-color: "> <a class="background-link" href="/topic//"></a> </div> </div> </li>

@jminer Did something just change?
Suddenly my iPad is sorting topics by most recent post, despite my settings (and I’ve tried logging out and back in, and changing my sort order).

Nothing that I am aware of...did you try clearing the Oppo cookies/cache and signing in again?

I did restart services an hour or so ago but that shouldn't have anything to do with that.
