One, two, one, two, testing. It's only me.

Well signed up here and other places.
Thought I'd see if I could figure out how to post here, here goes,
And a picture maybe.

@svended Welcome!
My cars never look as good as the ones you svend.
-
Wouldn't be proper Oppo without Svend and Svendings
-
@exage03040 Cheers mate.
-
@jminer Hi mate. I'm sure that's not true.
-
@svended Oh it's very true - I'm terrible at making my cars look good. I'm one of those monsters that washes my car and motorcycles quarterly at most. I always take excellent care of them mechanically, but perfect paint and interior has never really been at the top of the list of things I care about. That being said I do find it beautiful the care you (and others) put into making something look better than it did from the factory.

@svend Hi!

@svend Hey, it's the ultimate car detailer! Welcome friend!
Take a peek at the User Guide if you want an overview!

@rallydarkstrike cheers mate. I'll have to go through it all.
-
@nomdeplume No. For some reason it wouldn't let me register as Svend (totally certain it was an error on my part), but when going through the profile section, saw I could change it.

Ah, well you can take comfort knowing these apparent hiccups are outweighed by the benefits of corporate level security/insecurity that will allow you to privately share cars too dirty for public examination and all the tricks you use to get them squeaky clean with at least a few barriers to easy access by invasive elements.
Would you mind sharing a rough overview of how you institute the "Svended" plate onto your detailing photos? I've wondered for what seems like ages.
-
Good to see you pal.
-
The cleanest cars around, now on the hyphen.
-
There he is! Was worried for a little.
-
@nomdeplume lol. No worries.
A few years ago some people were concerned about having their vehicle licence plate posted on the internet. There is a thing called 'cloning', where someone with say, a red Ford Escort, who doesn't want to pay speeding fines, parking fines, car insurance, doesn't have a driving licence and so on, finds a similar car online and copies the licence plate and puts it on their car.
Their car now to all intents and purposes is fully legal, the thing is, if they do something illegal or get a fine, it is the registered owner of the licence plate who gets issued the fines or the knock on the front door by the police, and the owness is on them to prove it's not their vehicle in question.
Long story short it often necessitated for photos to be uploaded to my computer and the licence plates edited out, many times picture quality was affected and so I thought I'd get some show plates made to put on the cars when I'm done and then I could upload the images to where I want straight away.
I always liked the old style U.K. licence plate of polished metal script with black background.
With licence plates being made from perspex now I went for a similar style of silver script on a black background but using the modern Charles Wright font.
Later after some thought and a Canadian (I think) on OPPO was posting musings of U.S. and Canadian licence plates but in size and style of European licence plates. We went back and forth a few times and I later made some alterations and found a company who would make show plates to exactly how I wanted. The company turns out to be the Ford recognised company for manufacturing the Ford Mexico decals.
The plate is my screen name with the Cumbrian flag in the background. The green represents the green mountains and valleys of Cumbria, the White and blue waves represent the Lake, waters and meres and the three flowers represent the three original counties of Cumberland, Westmorland and North Lancashire that make up modern day Cumbria.
All that, to save me editing time and losing picture quality. Lol.

@chariotoflove always a pleasure and never a chore to see you mate.
-
@tripper worried, about me, nah. Lol.
I'm good, hope your keeping well. -
@whoistheleader hi fella.
-
@svend Haha just worried that you hadn't made it over to the new oppo(s) yet
-
" or the knock on the front door by the police"
I'm well aware of what knockers are in the UK as well as the possibility of trickery that might summon the rozzers to your door.
That you made fake plates makes perfect sense. I really did wonder if you went analog and did just that.
