        Friday! My Friday so far:

Welcome to DC! We’ve dropped off our son for his conference and now we’re debating what to do on a rainy Friday. Plan for tomorrow is to do a bunch of walking to see what we can. I never thought I’d say it, but we're considering a Segway tour. I’m just not sure how much walking my wife can handle. We shall see!

Never discount the possibility that you might live through it.

@bicyclebuck When I was in DC many years ago, my family toured most of the museums. If you're even slightly interested in aerospace, hit up the Air & Space Museum. (I was a total aerospace nerd as a kid. I might be biased.) There's also the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History which I think appeals to a wider audience.

Hopefully they're not closed due to COVID.

That was what we really wanted to do. Air and Space is closed. Of the other museums that are open, tickets are required and all of those have been claimed through the end of July.

@bicyclebuck Drat, knew it. COVID ruins all the fun, as usual.

@bicyclebuck There are some (non-free) non-Smithsonian museums around, like the International Spy Museum or National Building Museum. If you can stomach a trip to Baltimore, it looks like the National Aquarium and B&O Railroad Museum are open with availability.

Awesome! I’ll look into it. We’re going to get a car for a couple of day trips next week, so finding a couple of places further afield is definitely doable.

Segway tour would be fun. For me, the must-see in Dee-Cee is the Lincoln Memorial.

If I could choose but one Smithsonian museum, it would be the American Art Museum.

@ramblinrover Well the museum is independent these days, but B&O's corporate successor is made of enough railroads the list needs its own wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_CSX_Transportation_predecessor_railroads

That's all three of the real Monopoly railroads, so those costs might be high.
