      1,000 foot, 3.1s@260mph+
      Perspective: The world record for the fastest boat is 317mph in a jet-powered Australian hydroplane.

        @grindintosecond Screw that shit. Insanity.
        Eddie Hill quit nitro boat racing to go top fuel dragster because the boats were just so dangerous. I hope it's safer nowadays but 270 on water has got to be on the ragged edge of physics.

          @grindintosecond Given at those speeds it's no longer really "floating" and more "staying aloft above the water on ground effect and from angular thrust", at what point is it really a "ground-propelled ekranoplan" and not a "boat"?

            @grindintosecond jesus those things are fucking nuts.

            I LOVE going fast on the water on our old jet skis, but I've been on a modern supercharged seadoo that was still pulling strong at 70mph and I decided to back off because I wasn't sure I could hold on, that was more than fast enough lol

              @grindintosecond at what point does it stop being a boat and become a low flying plane?

              Comin' in first, never in last
              'Cause my car too fast (Zoom, zoom)

                  That’s amazing! I remember seeing them once on Lake Overholser (near Okc) when my grandfather took me over there to go fishing. He was upset that we couldn’t go fishing, but I had a great time watching a couple of the boats make runs! I had no idea they were that fast.

                  Never discount the possibility that you might live through it.
