Picking up the GTL: Day Two
-
OK, Y'all.... The GTL has been docked safely in it's berth at home...
This was a super motorcycle buying experience... If you missed day one, it's here.
I stopped to stretch and hydrate a few times during the first day over 213 miles...
Unusual Junction !
Tappan Lake !
At the end of day one, I had to make a quick fog/driving light adjustment, so I accessed the BMW-supplied toolkit: A T35, T25, and straight blade screwdriver.
I shouldn't need anything else, right ?
The GTL's vehicle dynamics are so confidence inspiring... I am much more comfortable riding this 800lb scooter at the limit than I should be after 200-ish miles.
Today (day 2), I rode from Pittsburgh all the way home south of Philly via a few fun landmarks and covered an additional 336 miles.
Horseshoe Curve !
Some podunk central PA university...
CHOO CHOO ! NW611 and K1600GTL @ Strasburg RR...
So many bugs were smashed !
Mrs. Dood heard me pull up at the house and came outside to greet me... She is super pumped! We're gonna put some miles on this rig !
-
Good to see you safely home!
-
@doodon2whls So very cool, looks like a great adventure bringing it home.
-
@doodon2whls I'm guessing a ton of those bugs were cicadas, but I'm glad the ride home was dope and the smiles per mile will be plentiful!
-
@taylor-martin interestingly,I didn't really have much cicada action until the last 30 miles ... Not many Brood X cicadas out on western PA or OH...
