Watching a recorded lecture. The person in the foreground is my professor, the picture in the background is interesting. Anyone with previous military background or ttyymmnn likely knows this. Care to explain?

sleigh appears to have an arresting hook, looks like it's to insinuate that it's coming in for a carrier landing. Santa is probably terrified as carrier landings can be hairy at the best of times.

The full flight deck is likely a cause for concern, however.

When you hover over the pic in that link, it magnifies it. Now I can see the crew jumping overboard as the sleigh is approaching the wrong way on to a full flight deck! LOL!
