Average age of your fleet??

Average age of a car in the USA is 11.9 years. That made think how old is my fleet? I have a 2000, 2017 and 2019 MY cars. So, (20+3+1)/3 = 8 years old.
But, here is the trick. If you have a car and it isn’t registered, it doesn’t count.
Go crazy.

Mine's easy: 15.5 years.

25.5 years. The old ones are really helping the average.
(50+30+14+8)/4=25.5
1979 + 1998 + 2013 → Average Age of 23 1/3 years

21+14 (both are soon to be one year older) = 17.5 (because math magic)

14 years!

Across my family it is exactly 12 years average. My only car is 8 years old so it's close to that. Wonder what the median is. . . .

@jbboin said in Average age of your fleet??:
21+16 (both are soon to be one year older) = 17.5 (because math magic)
That sounds more like new math than magic math. You're a year off.

2012, 2004, 2001, 1988...17.5 years average. Once I get the red Fiero that’ll go up to 22.

@justjeepin indeed, i didn't even realize i did put 21 instead of 20 but because both cars are closer to the next digit i will leave it but fix the result.

Humdrum is a 2009...so...11 years!

49+31+25 = 105 ÷ 3... 35.

@musashi66
Mean= 21.6
Median= 13
Range= 1 to 51
28 for registered vehicles, 33 including without tags.

@musashi66 13.7 years. 2000, 2005 and 2014.
Well, I think the 2005 is registered anyways.

@musashi66 '06 and '14 makes... 10 years on average. Unless I count my wife's car too then it's 11 years. The two of us are pretty dang average, I guess!

@williamssw LOL! It's not like they're pulling over anybody for expired stickers these days.

@beefchips My numbers are exactly the same.

'71, '85, '99, '19 (I really blew it with the 124, not only is it not 14 years apart but it's going to wreck the average.)
Average age is 35 years as of the beginning of the year, currently only 26.5 years because Fiata.

16.75. That’s 1 which is 49 years old and 3 built in the last decade.

@shopteacher counting as SO's cars in the mix too? Nice!

@musashi66 7 + 22 = 29
29/2 = 14.5yrs
@musashi66 23.333333333 years

@drzoidberg the fraction makes it fractionally cooler.

@musashi66 Not trying to hijack the thread but I wonder what the average cylinder count for oppos might be??
For me, my new red car at 6 and the moto at 1 makes average cylinders per vehicle = 3.5
